"This Talented Canadian singer also co-wrote most of the 11 tracks on her effervescent self-titled album "Suzana Da Camara". Combining soft jazz with pop and hints of folk music, it'a an ideal vehicle for the artist's sweet, natural voice. It's a voice that combines strength with feminine softness, and it's shown off to marvelous effect in the album's standout "Donnez L'Amour." Mixing French lyrics with English, the upbeat song combines an utterly infectious folk tempo with a contemporary sensibility. The result is irresistable and wouldn't have been out of place on the filmscore for Amélie. Da Camara's charming rendition of this song also brings to mind actress Julie Delpy's performance of several songs on the soundtrack of the film before sunset. Both performances share a seductive gentelness and vulnerability that'll leave you smitten. It's "easy listening", in a very good way."

"With a voice as silky-smooth as Sade's and as playfully sexy as Basia's, Suzana da Camara will definitely turn heads.
On her elegantly produced self-titled album, the vocalist effortlessly seduces listeners with her remarkable pipes, hooking us in from the first minute and never letting go. With a spicy mix of smooth jazz, bossa nova, and Latin, da Camara shows versatility but passion as well, she knows these genres inside out, how to make her vocals fit with the stylistically shifting arrangements.
"Spend the Night Together" is flirty bossa nova as da Camara sounds as sultry as Basia in her prime. Her voice soars engagingly with the piano, in fact, they are like two instruments in synch. "No Ordinary Love" opens slowly then picks up speed with da Camara hypnotizing us as much as Sade. On "Catastrophe," da Camara is at her dreamy best. Her vocals are lush and sweet, nearly ethereal. The yearning, melancholy tones of "Forever and Tonight" will just knock you out completely.
This is definitely a record that you will treasure, however, it's best heard in the evening, especially through a nighttime drive through the city."
