Suzana da Camara was founded in 2000 by artists Suzana Barbosa and Mike Dell. The group's unique blend of jazz, cabaret, world music and pop has earned it crititcal and audience acclaim in Canada and abroad. Heavily influenced by their Canadian and Portuguese hertitage, the band explores themes of love, life and relationships in English, French and Portuguese.

Known for their lush layered arrangements, charmingly catchy melodies and infectious rhythms, Suzana da Camara has produced three independent albums and performed throughout Ontario, British Colombia and The Azores Islands, Portugal. The band's most recent album Suzana da Camara produced by lengendary Canadian porducer Jack Richardson who has previously worked with The Guess Who, Bob Seger and Alice Cooper, showcases Suzana's “honey sweet vocals” (Jazz FM) and Mike Dell's “stylistically shifting arrangements” (Whisperin & Hollerin, UK) . The album was nominated for two Nothern Ontario Music and Film Awards for Best Album and Best Single (Searching Deep Down) and was named as one of the Top Ten Albums of 2005 by CBC Radio's Fresh Air.

Suzana da Camara's playful and passionate sound has international appeal and the group was named as artist of the month on both Portugal's Radio Club di Angra and Japan's Yellow Beat Radio. The band's self-titled album is available in Japan, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand and Singapore and single songs have been inlcuded on compilations including W Network Presents … AN EVENING WITH FRIENDS featuring Norah Jones, Michael Buble, Ella Fitzgerald and Tony Bennet and ROSEMOUNT WINE AND SONG.

Suzana da Camara recently welcomed musician Randall Savoie to the group and are hard at work on a new and exciting album of original material embracing smooth styles with a contemporary sensibility.
